What is Tokyo Ghoul? 

Tokyo Ghoul is a horror manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. The story is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, who are traditionally the enemies of humankind, live among them in society and are known to be cannibalistic creatures that kill people to satisfy their hunger.

Tokyo Ghoul follows Ken Kaneki, a college student who barely survives a ghoul attack which transforms him into one of the monsters. He must now adapt to survive as both human and ghoul to find out more about what kind of creature he has become.

The idea for the first episode of the podcast came about when one of the co-founders, Alex Blumberg, was talking to his wife about a recent experience he had with a potential client that he was not sure if he should take on. He wanted to help other people who were in this same situation and wanted their advice. So he thought about creating an advice podcast with his wife as a co-host. They pitched this idea to their friend, comedian Adam Conover, who agreed to work on it with them.
